Escher Girls, the Tumblr blog devoted entirely to pointing out comics’ frequent anatomical impossibilities drawn in the name of making women look “sexy” (read: making them look like they have swivel waists and broken backs and are shaped like camels), celebrates its one-year anniversary. Go say Happy Birthday to Ami Angelwings on Twitter. She’s a fellow Canuck, don’tchaknow. Doing our country proud.

And don’t miss the Tumblr blog itself, where there’s sure to be birthday celebration boobs-and-butt drawings! (That girl at the link’s name is Liefelda.)

I knew those spinal twists my therapist has me doing were good for something! The combat application has so far escaped me, but I’m sure it must be there.
Yay! Fantastic job, Ami Angelwings! I love Eschergirls, it is always snarky and funny and feminist.
While certainly unreasonable, I must disagree on the impossibility of many of the spinal twists. I watch a 50 y.o. female yoga instructor on my local pbs station. She regularly invites me to perform twists and manipulation that I KNOW are physiologically impossible. And then she does them. The human body is amazing, with mine evidently being one of the exceptions.
