Hitting the Wrong Target

Every once in a while, I feel sorry for people who have names or Twitter handles close to mine.

A year or so ago, the person who has the @svan handle had an unprotected Twitter account, even though people had misdirected tweets meant for me that way since I joined Twitter. It’s protected now. Anyone want to guess why?

But, hey. No gender- or sex-based abuse happening here, folks! Move along. Nothing to see.

15-17 of the 46 people who work for CFI are women. Not nearly as scary as szvan’s Putney story

They’re so cute when they try and fail at reading comprehension. The story was about volunteers going on strike, not employees.

Mykeru seems to be a garden-variety sadist. The only thing interesting about him is the people who try to claim neutrality or a rational approach to disagreement who then turn around and cheer him on–or like SkepDirt, participate.

Mykeru has quite an online history. The atheism/skepticism community is not the only domain where he’s regarded as an obnoxious and malicious thug.

Stacy, not only that, but my introduction to the article pointed to a volunteer who was already considering walking away. Who’s supposed to be inspiring whom here?

Holy fuck. Can you imagine going about your day as normal, only to suddenly start getting tweets along the line of “@svan does with her labial palps is a closely-guarded secret. This Tweeter will report any forthcoming information on them.” from someone you’ve never even heard of before? Yikes. These people can’t even confine their harassment to the people they intend to harass.

Oh, and whoever that person is, they must now have a stunning opinion of our community, assuming that the tweets they received were coherent enough for them to understand what was being said.

The Slympit: Making atheism shine like a glob of snot since its conception!

Yeah Mykeru and RichSanderson attacked @oolon as well, when I’m @ool0n, with a zero… I know @oolon was unprotected as I messaged may back to see if xie was using the id as I wanted it for obvious reasons 🙂 Now they have recently protected the account… Co-incidence? Maybe. Maybe not since they have weirdos messaging them calling them assholes and ranting about “RAGE TEARS”

Really if you are going to abuse someone at least make sure you get the right person! People might start to think you are a laughing stock otherwise… But then there is no “abuse” its all “just disagreeing” and no one is “silenced” despite two random Twitter accounts quite possibly being silenced by their scattergun abuse.
