Okay, so I’ve decided to open up comments to everyone, registered or not, and test out this akismet plugin.  If you want to prove you are who you say you are, registering is the best way to do so.  If you don’t care that someone could fake your name, then feel free to post your drive-by-postings.  Akismet should be able to take out the spammers so I feel fairly safe doing this.  Have fun!

The commenting rules are simple: don't piss me off. This rule has worked for me for a decade; I have never found a need for any other rule, because any other rules leads to rules-lawyering. Just remember -- this is my property, not yours.

    This is a test. This is just a test of an annon posting. If this were a real post it would say something far less amusing and certainly far beyond the ken of the poor wretch writing this blog.

    Yeah, “Bob”, it really does allow anonymous posting. It just didn’t show up because I had to rescue your “spam-like” post from Akismet’s pile. It’s not COMPLETELY anonymous — I can see what IP you posted from, and thus, if you’ve also posted under a real name, who you really are.

    I’m guessing it called it spam-like, because that site you picked, pickone.com, is apparently a spam portal.

    I just used pickone.com to put in a website. I didn’t actually expect to see this posted under the comments as I assumed that it would be picked up as spam, which in essence it was. I haven’t posted under a real name before and won’t for the foreseeable future. My reasons are valid but far to mundane to waste your time with here. By now you should be getting a clue as to this is.
