Today’s Atheist Meme of the Day:
We don’t yet understand what consciousness is. But all the available evidence is that, whatever consciousness is, it’s a biological process of the brain. And there is absolutely zero good evidence suggesting that any metaphysical process is part of the picture. Pass it on: if we say it enough times to enough people, it may get across.
But I don’t wanna be just a chunk of meat. I wanna be special. Therefore God must exist.

Not sure metaphysical is the word you are looking for.

Yeah, please don’t use metaphysics as a term for “not physics”. Sure, popular speech uses metaphysics for the study of auras and other nonsense, but metaphysics has a meaning for academic philosophy, and within metaphysics, physicalism is a perfectly acceptable view.
