Updates!

Sorry for the sporadic nature of posting lately, my darlings. Life got complicated in a hurry. I’ll explain in full later, but suffice it to say that all my best laid plans went agley, and I’ve been frantically trying to figure out how to fix it while also battling the good ol’ spring depression. Gah. At least lots of stuff was pre-loaded for ye.

Despite the universe doing its best to stop me, I’m finally almost done with the book. Which book? This book!

Image is a painting of Abraham, holding a knife to a screaming Isaac's throat, looking incomprehendingly at the cherub that's trying to get his attention. Above is the title Really Terrible Bible Stories. Below is vol. I Genesis, Dana Hunter.

I’ve been spending the past few days furiously formatting, and it’s almost ready for prime time. It should be on sale by early next week! It’ll be Kindle-only the first few months, and then we’ll see about releasing it for Nook, and possibly other formats, and we’ll even kill a few trees if enough people want dead-tree editions.

I can’t even tell you how excited I am to finally be publishing my first book.

It’s Earth Day, and you can find out what kind of animal I am over at Rosetta Stones. If you take the quiz, let me know what you are!

In other news, Misha’s made it to 21. Blackjack!

Image shows Misha huddled in a blanket cave.
Yeah, yeah, whatevs. All I care about is warms.

She’s in declining health, but seems happy enough despite it. She loves her blanket caves and cuddles, and sunbeams, and hanging out on the porch in good weather. She’s gotten to the point where she doesn’t give a fuck whether B’s over or not, and will assert her dominion regardless. Cuddling with both of them is so wonderful! Fingers crossed for another few months with her.

Stay tuned for a new Adventures in Christianist Earth Science Education post, which will hopefully go up tomorrow. And watch for many more updates and announcements to come!

I tweeted you my quiz results. I’m quite pleased!
Glad to hear you’re okay, and excited about your book, though *ahem* disappointed *major side-eye* that it’s not a volcano book *khmMSHkhm*. Sorry, it’s awful dry and dusty in this room right now.
    ;)
    *hugs* if you wants ’em!

You’re a giant squid! You can achieve anything to which you put your mind and/or your massive tentacles.

I must spend too much time at Pharyngula.

I’m with rq. MSH demands the attention only you can give her.

Still, I always get a kick out of the moronic tales theists claim to believe, and this should keep me occupied while you get back into volcano mode.

Congratulations – glad to hear both bits of news and looking forward to reading your book. When is itcoming out? (Esp. in Australia if you know.) :-)

Just taken it and turns out I’m a mantis shrimp :

You’re a mantis shrimp!Mysterious and beautiful, you’re not afraid to use your powerful claws to attack, stun and dismember prey.

Um, not so sure about that myself! But thanks anyhow.

BTW. Off topic sorry but thinking of people blogging sporadically here (& yeah , I entirely understand that life gets busy all too well. Fair enough.) do you happen to know what’s happened to Stephen “DarkSyde” Andrew of the Zingularity blog by any chance please Dana Hunter? He hasn’t blogged in well over a month and I’m worried about him. Hope he is okay and will resume blogging soon. Glad to know you are well and always enjoy reading your posts here.

Wow, so many sea creatures! I’d have been a mantis shrimp, but I chose meat snacks. Kinda wishing I’d plumped for shrimp now.

Thanks for the well-wishes, my darlings! They seem to have given Misha new life – she’s back to eating normally (for an ancient wee beastie) and getting all up in my bidness.

Once I get my situation sorted, you’ll get your MSH book. Alas, for now, I’ll be focusing on easier books to prepare and release, as I need to build a bookshelf ASAP. It’s also looking like I’m condemned to get a day job again, so that’ll cut in to writing time rather badly. Grr. But MSH posting will resume this summer. B and I are headed up there to hike the hummocks in early May, so long as the weather’s good, so you’ll even get some new pics, yay!

I’ll update you soon. Off to get yer non-volcano book done nao! Love to you all!
