Misha’s developed quite the catnip sensitivity in her old age. She never used to touch the stuff, but lately, she’ll go over to her scratch pad and demand some fresh drugs be dealt. We like to oblige.

Image shows Misha rubbing her head on a corrugated cardboard scratch pad.

I wish I’d grabbed the camera when she was first getting in to it. The pad was halfway across the living room floor. She pushed it over, at one point tipping it over and dumping a heaping helping of catnip all over herself. By the time I’d reached the camera, alas, she’d rolled off the damage and pushed the pad against the couch, where there would be no more instability issues.

Image shows Misha at her pad, with catnip all over her head.

She’s still got some behind her ears in this shot, and of course, you can see a scattering of it on the floor up by her butt. Good thing I’d been too lazy to vacuum, innit?

Image shows Misha twisted with her back legs on the floor, and her head and chest rotated 90 degrees with her chin against the pad.

She gets pretty limber for an old cat when she’s busy getting high. I’m glad she still has her fun, and has discovered the joye of drug use in her old age.I figure as long as she’s enjoying herself and only has a bit of arthritis pain, she’s good to go. Hopefully, there’ll be many more years of this, and she’ll just keep getting weirder as she gets older and more vulnerable to the influence of demon catnip.
