You get the sense of land bobbing in place, popping up and down like a giant whack-a-mole game, or possibly Riverdancers. It’s a funhouse mirror of geology.

If you live in the Northwest, at least, this isn’t an unreasonable idea. Bits of the Earth are popping up all the time around here.

The only possible way I can make my bed in the morning is to feed the kitties, then run back to the bedroom and throw the bed together quickly. Otherwise, once they’ve finished breakfast, they usually decide to come help me. It is impossible, at least for me, to pull a blanket into place with 17 lb. and 10 lb. kitties sitting on it. But by golly, they’re helping. They’ll tell you so.

She knows you want that notebook. And she’s going to defend to the death her right to lay on it. Your death, that is.

While I have not checked I suspect a lot of this work can be found at the USGS web site.

Or you can go to Louis Agassiz and his work on ice ages. (Which being as you live in Western WA will help explain how the ice age theories come about.

Continents…”

GodDAMmit Dana I want to grab teachers and school administrators and parents all over the country by the ears and make them read this. Biggest adventure in human history – breaking out of the chains of ancient supposition – actually looking at what is and teasing out how it works. And they are desperate to put the chains back on.
