Some of my favourite songs are “Forever Autumn”, “Hazy Shade of Winter” and “California Dreamin'”. Gee, that’ll make me sound old – but those were written when I was quite young; I got to like them later.)Summer here is too hot for me – I don’t do well in hot weather. And winter here is not a “dead season” – most native plants don’t lose their leaves. It doesn’t get cold enough to snow; you’re lucky if you even get a hint of frost on the very coldest mornings.

There is something in us that resonates with certain sounds, patterns, rhythms, smells, colors…Me, I’m a Fall guy. No pun intended. And I’m pretty fond of winter. Gives me a kick, riding my bike when most people complain about walking to the car.Summer’s too frakkin’ hot. I don’t dissipate heat very well.

The rare bit of snow we get here will look pretty dusting the trees, granted – but only so long as I don’t have to drive in it. People in this city lose their minds when there’s a snowflake or two on the road.”When did you move to the UK? We’ve had rain all summer so it won’t be too much of a change. If anything, it’ll be an improvement when its cold enough to wear a real coat.

There’s something about the first day you go out without a coat that’s liberating and re-energizing.
