I’ve had enough of people trivializing depression using phrases like cheer up, develop a more positive outlook, make yourself mentally tougher, drink this, etc.

That ‘Men’s Rights’—you’re right to put that in quotes because that guy is too confused to be anything—activist’s letter is hilarious. But Rebecca Watson always publicizes the extreme rants that she gets. There are a lot of reasonable, respectful, and eloquent men who feel that they are being discriminated against, and smart that she is—she is smart—she should acknowledge that too.

Lots of women benefit from patriarchal societies, and they indulge in misogynous expressions—humiliating the women who are open about sexuality, shaming housewives for no reason, etc. It’s heartening that this topic is not verboten.
