30DaysofBiking: Day 21

Where: Lyndale and Carag neighborhoods (~3.5 miles)
Why: Recreation
When: Thursday April 21th
Weather: Dark, drizzling, cold 40F (4.4C)
Who: Me and the Hubby

Notes: It was a cold and rainy night, so we thought we’d work with the theme and try to take a picture down by Lakewood Cemetery. SThe only camera I brought was my phone and the flash on the HTC Incredible is rather less than incredible. So, I ended up posing the Hubby under one of the brighter lamps in the Lyndale Farmstead park and taking what I could get, photo-wise.

30DaysofBiking: Day 20

Where: Lynlake to Powderhorn Park (~4 miles)
Why: Recreation
When: Wednesday April 20th
Weather: Alternating sunny and overcast, 38F (3.3C)
Who: Me

Notes: Powderhorn was teeming with birds. I saw wood ducks, mallards, gulls, Canadian geese and even a cormorant. I’ve now got over 300 pictures to go through to see if I managed to capture any gems!

30DaysofBiking: Day 20

30DaysofBiking: Day 19

Where: Lynlake (~0.5 miles)
Why: Recreation – Lazy ride for 30DaysofBiking
When: Tuesday April 19th
Weather: Lightly snowing, 37F (2.7C)
Who: Me

Notes: I took a quick ride around the neighborhood at 11:45pm in order to fulfill my 30DaysofBiking pledge. I stopped in the Lyndale/Lake Street area to take a stretch, and when I turned around I found my bike peeking in the windows of the local sex toy shop! Naughty, naughty bike!

30DaysofBiking: Day 19

30DaysofBiking: Day 16

Where: Lynlake to Loring Park (~4 miles)
Why: Recreation
When: Sunday April 17th, wee hours of the morning (2am)
Weather: Cold, clear 33F (0.5C)
Who: Me

Notes: While this ride technically took place on Sunday morning (although I would argue that 2am is NOT morning), I’m totally counting it as Saturday’s ride because I haven’t gone to bed yet, which means that it isn’t yet a new day.

30DaysofBiking: Day 15

Where: Lynlake, around a few blocks (0.6 miles)
Why: Recreation – giving Minneapolis spring the finger.
When: Friday April 15th, evening
Weather: Sleeting, cold 35F (1.6C)
Who: Me

Notes: This evening Minneapolis received a spring treat – wet, stingy snow/rain. But you know what? It’s 30 Days of Biking, bitchez!

It’s time to get on the bike and RIDE the HELL out of that sleet!

Post-ride

30DaysofBiking: Day 15

30DaysofBiking: Day 14

Where: Lynlake and Uptown Minneapolis (~1.6 miles)
Why: Transportation
When: Thursday April 14th, night
Weather: Cool, windy, 47F (8.3C)
Who: Me and the Hubby

Notes: The Hubby was already in his PJs when I got home at 10pm this evening (he actually didn’t change for the ride, as you can see below). It was windy and cold, I was pretty tired and didn’t really want to go riding. Tonight we needed motivation to get our butts on the bikes. That motivation took the form of McFlurries in Uptown.

30DaysofBiking: Day 14

30DaysofBiking: Day 13

Where: Whittier neighborhood, South Minneapolis (~3 miles)

When: Wednesday April 13th, evening
Weather: Cool and clear with clouds in the sky, 55F (12.7C)
Who: Me and the Hubby

Action shot! Riding through the Stevens Square neighborhood.

We were going to do some shopping for Friday’s #30daysofbiking Fashion Frolic. Sadly, we just missed the store hours and had to settle for a quick pic outside the great front window of Blacklist Vintage in the Whittier neighborhood to satisfy our Wednesday #sololocal challenge ride.

30DaysofBiking: Day 13

30DaysofBiking: Day 12

Where: Lynlake and Uptown Minneapolis (~2 miles)

Notes: I saw bats at Lake Calhoun as dusk approached – so cool!

Because I had to lock my bike and leave everything while running I decided not to bring my camera, thus, no personal photo of the ride today. So instead, here’s a video that was made by the creators of 30daysofbiking.com.

I almost missed Day 11 of 30DaysofBiking! I got home from my RPG night at 10:30pm, grabbed the bike and headed to Uptown for a little night time jaunt. I love riding at night – the streets are so quiet and empty!
