Cross-Country Connections: Plant

Cross-Country Connections is a Biodork weekly blog entry dedicated to telling stories in pictures of three family members – me, my sister and Mom – living in different locations across the country. Every week we choose a different theme and then take or contribute a personal photo that fits the theme. This week’s theme is Plant.

I have cats so this is the only kind of plant I can own. Of course I don’t dust this anymore than I would water a real one so I guess I really can’t blame the critters.

From me in Minneapolis, Minnesota:

My officemate’s avocado plants are still hanging on. They’ve almost made it through an entire Minnesota winter!

I once grew an avocado in a (big) pot to about 6′ 6″! (it was my tallest child!!!)

I’d put it outside every summer, and it survived for about 20 years, till I didn’t realise there was a severe frost at the start of one autumn and the poor thing died. 🙁
