Happy Spring From Minnesota!

Here are a couple of pictures of budding trees, tulips and daffodils in bloom, and robins singing in…ah, no. That’s not it.

Spring Dog Walk

A hardy Minnesotan and her hardy Minnesotan dog were taking in the sunny Minnesotan springtime this morning.

Spring Escorting

Me outside of the women’s clinic this morning. Does that look like spring clothing to you? My frickin’ toes about froze off.

Spring Please

I saw this on the Minnesota Renaissance Festival’s Facebook page. This. So much. Please.

Doing that without offering to put us all up until spring finally arrives? That’s evil, Crommunist. That’s what it is.

I laughed at the people who complained about getting a bunch of snow in March for acting like they’ve never lived through high school tournament season. The people who complain about these temperatures, though?

Well, I’ll let you know after I go crawl under a blanket.

I was driving through the California Central Valley on the first of March. (CA 120 east of US 99 should anyone care.) The almond trees were in bloom. It was beautiful. Allergy season had begun.

The nice thing was if I had wanted snow, I could have visited Bear Valley or one of the higher elevation Tahoe area resorts. And left when I had enough.

I wish that California ski resorts would have banner years. At least the Department of Water Resources does. It’s so much easier to allocate water when there is enough of it. Drive north on I-5 from Grapevine. It’s a great place to grow food and fiber. But farmers there depend on imported water.
