Unholy Night Trailer

Now this is a messed up (fabulously so) book trailer!

From the official website:

In Grahame-Smith’s [author of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies] telling, the so-called “Three Wise Men” are infamous thieves, led by the dark, murderous Balthazar. After a daring escape from Herod’s prison, they stumble upon the famous manger and its newborn king. The last thing Balthazar needs is to be slowed down by young Joseph, Mary and their infant. But when Herod’s men begin to slaughter the first born in Judea, he has no choice but to help them escape to Egypt.

It’s the beginning of an adventure that will see them fight the last magical creatures of the Old Testament; cross paths with biblical figures like Pontius Pilate and John the Baptist; and finally deliver them to Egypt. It may just be the greatest story never told.

It’s done. I’m in. It’s officially on the Kindle list of books to read.

Have discovered that Kindle prices are too high, sometimes more than the paperback, but especially for one whose library is about 80% used (1/2 price) paperbacks. Will await your review. And the used paperback – if you give thumbs up, of course.

The Slaughter of the Innocents is one of the events on the gospels that surely would have been documented by outside sources. It is not.

I think the histories would read like this:

In the year XXX AUC Herod of Judea undertook to kill all firstborn make children under age two for reasons which are unknown to us. This was very unpopular with the people. The procurator at that tome ordered his guard to attack Herod’s palace. He later assumed direct control of Judea.
