I’m working on three different blog posts, including a super-dandy write up about the awesomeness that was my weekend trip to Chicago for Skepticamp. Things have been pretty crazy though and I’ve barely had had time to sleep, what getting back to Minneapolis late on Sunday, having to save unconscious humans from demons on Monday night with my roleplaying group (GURPS this time around), trying to pull together an interview script for this Sunday’s Atheists Talk radio show with singer-songwriter, Shelley Segal, putting together guns for this weekend’s EPIC Nerf War (yeah, there’s a photo that goes with that below), offering up a red dress to the Blogess’s Traveling Red Dress Project, and reading this hilarious blog (casually and frequently dropped F-bombs may make it NSFW) that I just discovered. So I haven’t actually gotten to any photo editing or writing, and I wouldn’t foist crappy writing off on this blog.*  But I haven’t even had time to pull together crappy writing because I’m too busy loving my life. Don’t you hate when that happens?

So until things calm down, here’s a couple of photos of people making funny faces:

Here’s Jeremy from the ever thought-provoking, humorous, breathtaking, snarky Le Cafe Witteveen. I was pleased as punch to be able to catch up with Monsieur Witteveen at Chicago Skepticamp on Saturday. In this shot he’s giving me his best grumpy old man face.

    Какой глубины должен быть пруд для рыбы.
    Многие любители «домашней» аквакультуры, планируя пруд на своем участке, стараются сделать его поглубже, наверное, следуя известной пословице, что, дескать, рыба ищет где глубже, а человек где лучше. Но, к сожалению, народная мудрость и биология не всегда идут рука об руку и приверженцы прудов с «конкретной» глубиной совершая, вроде бы одну ошибку, получают сразу несколько неприятных последствий, которых можно было бы избежать, если знать некоторые законы взаимодействия среды и организмов ее населяющих.
    Разберемся по порядку. В глубоких прудах (глубже 3 м) выход товарной рыбы будет ниже ожидаемого, даже если кормить, удобрять и увеличить плотность посадки. И вот почему. Дело в том, что планктон, как растительный, так и животный, составляющий большую часть кормовой базы пруда, обитает далеко не во всей водной толще, а только в относительно узком приповерхностном слое, который в среднем составляет около 1,5 метра (об этом будет отдельная заметка). Так что для аквакультуры важен не столько объем пруда, сколько его площадь. Зная эту продуктивную глубину, следует также понимать, что ее возможности по обеспечению рыбы кормом ограничены. Поэтому, если, желая вырастить больше рыбы, вы зарыбите больше потенциальных возможностей вашего пруда, то рыба будет голодать и плохо расти. К тому же в плотно посаженном ослабленном стаде начнут активно развиваться различные инфекционные и паразитарные заболевания. Отход (гибель рыбы) увеличится.
    Если для увеличения продуктивности фито и зоопланктона вы решите вносить в водоем удобрения, то здесь большая глубина, сделает это мероприятие менее эффективным, поскольку концентрация биогенов в продуктивной зоне будет ниже, т.к. значительная их часть будет распределена вне этой зоны и планктоном усвоена не будет, а значит и понесенные затраты заметно не увеличат прирост рыбной продукции.
    Кроме этого, в глубоком водоеме кормление увеличит накопление ненужной органики и гнилостные процессы, поскольку, чем глубже водоем, тем меньше интенсивность перемешивания придонных слоев воды с верхними насыщенными кислородом. А в бескислородной стоячей воде запускаются механизмы разложения органики с выделением метана, сероводорода и прочих неполезных для обитателей пруда веществ. Рыба начинает задыхаться и болеть. Если при этом кормление не прекратить, то процессы гниения будут нарастать и в итоге может отравится весь водоем, что повлечет массовую гибель рыбы (замор). Конечно, в такой ситуации, ни о каких донных организмах, которыми бы питались карп, лещ, осетровые и т.п. речь не идет.
    Не лишним будет также напомнить, что выкапывая пруд 5 м и более мы вторгаемся в недра матушки Земли, а это наказуемое деяние без разрешения уполномоченных органов власти. А получив такое разрешение мы становимся не рыбоводами, или, например, пермакультуристами, а пользователями недр со всеми вытекающими последствиями (не дешевыми).
    Таким образом, даже если вы не желаете на своем будущем водоеме заниматься товарной аквакультурой, а склонны к естественности и водоем вам нужен все больше для созерцания и поиска смысла (определяйтесь сами чего), все же не стоит делать его глубже необходимого минимума для безопасной зимовки ваших питомцев. И исходить надо из того, что глубина непромерзающего слоя должна быть не меньше 1,2 м, а какая глубина промерзания зависит от вашей климатической зоны. Могу сказать, что в условиях ЮФО достаточная глубина пруда составляет 2 м.

    В артезианской скважине водоносный слой находится между двумя слоями известняковой породы на достаточно большой глубине – до 250 метров. Это обеспечивает воде непревзойденное качество и чистоту. Установка фильтров не требуется – на такой глубине вода отфильтровывается естественными способами.

    Скважина артезианского типа бурится роторном способом. Существует 4 вида конструкции артезианской скважины;

    Стандартная. В этом случае в грунтовом слое не содержится песка и глины, а давление воды очень высокое. Скважину оснащают одной металлической обсадной трубой. Диаметр трубы может достигать 159 мм. Не требует глубокого погружения насоса — воду можно добывать уже при наполненности 2 труб — до этой отметки она поднимается спокойно.
    С двойной обсадной трубой. В грунтовом слое имеется и песок, и глина, а давление воды очень слабое – самый оптимальный вариант для проведения работ. Без глинистых слоев встречаются довольно редко, потому чаще монтируется скважина с двойной обсадной трубой. Дополнительный элемент монтируется в зоне с сухим известняком.
    С кондуктором. В грунтовом слое не имеется песка и глины, давление воды высокое, но могут существовать преграды в верхних слоях – плывуны. Именно там монтируется кондуктор. Это помогает компенсировать давление.
    Телескопическая конструкция. Применяется в местах с неустойчивым грунтом с камнями и валунами. Конструкцию называют телескопической, так как здесь используется сразу три обсадных металлических трубы. Это позволяет компенсировать сильное давление среды.

    Over the years of independence, the institute has trained more than 13000 physicians (including 800 clinical interns, 1116 masters, 200 postgraduates and 20 doctoral students) in various directions.

    870 staff work at the institute at present,[when?] including 525 professorial-teaching staff in 55 departments, 34 of them are Doctors of science and 132 candidates of science. 4 staff members of the professorial-teaching staff of the institute are Honoured Workers of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 3 – are members of New-York and 2 – members of Russian Academy of Pedagogical Science.

    The institute has been training medical staff on the following faculties and directions: Therapeutic, Pediatric, Dentistry, Professional Education, Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, High Nursing Affair and Physicians’ Advanced Training. At present[when?] 3110 students have been studying at the institute (1331 at the Therapeutic faculty, 1009 at the Pediatric, 358 at the Dentistry, 175 students at the Professional Education Direction, 49 at the faculty of Pharmacy, 71 at the Direction of Preventive Medicine, 117 ones study at the Direction of High Nursing Affair).

    Today graduates of the institute are trained in the following directions of master’s degree: obstetrics and gynecology, therapy (with its directions), otorhinolaryngology, cardiology, ophthalmology, infectious diseases (with its directions), dermatovenereology, neurology, general oncology, morphology, surgery (with its directions), instrumental and functional diagnostic methods (with its directions), neurosurgery, public health and public health services (with its directions), urology, narcology, traumatology and orthopedics, forensic medical examination, pediatrics (with its directions), pediatric surgery, pediatric anesthesiology and intensive care, children’s cardiology and rheumatology, pediatric neurology, neonatology, sports medicine.

    The clinic of the institute numbers 700 seats and equipped with modern diagnostic and treating instrumentations: MRT, MSCT, Scanning USI, Laparoscopic Center and others.

    There are all opportunities to carry out sophisticated educational process and research work at the institute.
