As promised/threatened, Edie Kendel has taken to “exposing” me. Apparently, the fact that she knows nothing about me–or the fact that I’m fairly transparent and boring–isn’t going to stop her. Here’s her first attempt at smearing me.
1) Stephanie Zvan
@szvan was behind the tumblr blog. This blog was taken down rather quickly for violating the TOS of the site where it was
1 cont’d) posted. It named men in the skeptic community and accused them of various indiscretions. Some were alleged 1st hand accounts from
1 cont’d) the cooperating party. By cooperating, I mean that the anonynmous source of the alleged impropriety fully participated in the act
1 cont’d) the man was accused of. Other accounts were mere rumors. Stories someone heard from someone else, basically tall tales. I say tall
1 cont’d) tales bc truth that may have existed was certainly warped as words went from ear to ear. More will be said, Zvan.
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia As far as evidence, I was aware that everyone would want it. I can’t give my evidence at this…
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia …time. I can’t compromise my methods of any sources. I haven’t figured out a way to present…
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia evidence without doing so. I felt it was important enough to say, despite the fact that I can’t
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia give more about that particular instance at this time. It’s something I’ve wanted to say, but
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia also wanted to hand over with the smoking gun. The continued deliberate attempts by Zvan at
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia ruining, interfering with, affecting others’ lives needs to stop. Did her posting of my name push
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia this along sooner than I had planned? Sure. Is that the reason why I am saying this? No. That is
@RichSandersen @badsciencemonk @metaburbia actually the least of her malignancies.
Nope. Wasn’t me. I work under my own name, thanks. Whether I’m writing an open letter to Dawkins, starting a petition to the Secular Coalition, sending a letter to the Center for Inquiry board, it’s all done as me. I take my own risks. I do the same damned thing for this mess.
Additionally, I don’t tell the stories of anyone who isn’t willing to deal with the legal scrutiny that public discussion of their claims could entail. I don’t take risks for other people. I don’t encourage them to take legal risks. Not even “anonymously”, because I know what a subpoena is.
Also, even just a quick perusal of the Tumblr terms of service, like the one I made before work, turns up nothing that would have shut that Tumblr down. I didn’t put it up. I didn’t take it down. But whatever the reason it came down, it wasn’t because of the terms of service.
Update: Also, Sasha Pixlee has been willing to go on record stating this: “HAHAHAHAHA I actually know who started that Tumblr, and it wasn’t you (or me) and THEY chose to take it down. Anyone can quote me.” I knew this, but I wasn’t going to put it out there. As I said before, I don’t take risks for other people.
