Some more pictures

I uploaded Teri’s photos to Picasa. I’m also in the middle of processing some images from Shannon’s camera, and I have Sam’s video of the wedding that I still need to export and crunch, though because everyone decided to stand through the ceremony proper, you won’t really get to see all that much sadly. I understand there’s another video of the ceremony taken from halfway up the hall by one of Mark or Sara’s aunts, so hopefully there will be a better video coming.

Here’s some us-centric highlights from the stream I uploaded, but feel free to browse the rest if you’re interested in some of the “alternate shots” for each pose, or if you want to see Mark and Sara’s side of the double ceremony.

Wedding pictures

The wonderful @JSWadley and @Cyberlizard each put up picture streams (here and here), and live-tweeted the proceedings. Here are some pictures from the wedding taken by Jodi’s sister Teri. I’m working on getting my Gallery installation working, so these pics will have to whet your appetite until I manage to get it working properly. I might also give up and post them all to Facebook later.

Wedding day

Today, we’re getting married. Tomorrow, I might post about it. There will be videos up as soon as possible. And yes, I scheduled this post in advance, because there’s no way I’d have time otherwise.

If you want to reminisce, start here. The original blog trail is also cached here.

Thanks, Stephanie, for your help in starting this ball rolling. Wish you could be here to see the wedding.

And Jodi: when you finally read this several days from now, this is just a reminder that I love you. (As though you need a reminder.)

Wedding mode go!

I’m going to be in wedding mode for the next week. Work needs to be brought to a position where it can coast for the duration of my time off, and I’m going to be far too preoccupied with other stuff to blog regularly, so there’s a chance I won’t be able to post anything major for a while. I’m sure you won’t mind. I’ll do the standard Blog Cruise Control thing and link to various Youtube videos I find amusing or galling or what have you.

I hope to have videos of the wedding up on the 7th at the very latest, ripped from ReformedYankee’s camera and converted to something for public consumption, barring any unforeseen circumstances. There’s also a good chance @CyberLizard and @JSWadley will be live-tweeting the wedding proceedings. If we set up a picture feed I’ll of course link it here as soon as it’s ready to be used.

Kindly keep an eye on the intertubes for me in my absence, folks.

Wedding Favors!

As most of you know we’re doing a mild ‘steampunk’ theme for our wedding outfits because it’s fun and different. So for our favors we decided to keep to that theme and go with one of the victorian eras favorite past-times……. poisoning!

Some time ago I found some scans of genuine victorian poison labels that I thought were awesome. We decided we would print them onto sticker paper, then attach them to some small bottles of some sort and fill them with booze to give away as favors 🙂

Here are some pics of the finished result, I’m so pleased with them!! Continue reading “Wedding Favors!”

Wedding outfits so far

I wanted to give you all an how the wedding outfits are shaping up, with pretty pictures — and as close to pretty as you can get wherein I am the subject matter. Might as well get the latter out of the way first and foremost.

My partial outfit
My partial outfit

The hat will have a leather band tacked into it (if at all possible), I’ll have a waistcoat made of the same material as Jodi’s corset, and a cravat made to match the one we’re going to get ReformedYankee to wear. Sadly, I don’t have pictures of either the waistcoat or corset yet.

Also, we commissioned Jodi’s close friend Soni Alcorn-Hender (aka Bohemian Weasel), a multi-talented artist from Portugal, to make us some steampunkish jewelry for Jodi’s outfit and a fob-watch chain for mine, and she sent along some pictures I just had to share. You probably know her, in fact, from her Topps Lord of the Rings and Star Wars: Clone Wars art cards (or for you Pharynguloids, her Cthulhu card).

So we’ve got some top-shelf art being done for this wedding! These are absolutely beautiful, and will definitely add to the outfits that certain je ne sais quoi that we’ve been lacking up til now.

Amazingly, we got all this for a mere pittance, because Soni’s a wonderful person and loves Jodi to death.

I’ll put up some more pictures as I obtain them, hopefully of the full outfit once all the disparate parts have been gathered from the four corners of the Earth. And to those of you that have so graciously donated to our wedding and honeymoon fund via the righthand button, we have plans regarding giving appropriate thanks. (I won’t spoil what little surprise is involved.)

Wherein I beg (or: Help Jodi and Jason Afford Their Honeymoon!)

With the wedding exactly one month away to the day, and funds rapidly dwindling, I’m not above begging. We’re not in any kind of danger at the moment, but holy hell, the expenses sure did pile up fast — with the outfits and rings bought, and the party favors made, the big stuff is done with, but we’ve yet to pay for the last minute stuff, like hairdos, the Justice of the Peace, the appetizers / wine, or the venue. So, I figure we’re as good a charity case as any — I mean, hell, if Rick Warren’s Saddleback Ministries can make a cool $2.4mil in a week, despite how crazy sketchy his request was, people can throw a few bucks our way, right? I mean, at least here you know what it’ll be used for, and it definitely won’t be hookers and blow or getting out of gambling debts.

Therefore, I’m putting up a Paypal donation button for our wedding and honeymoon fund, for those of you who can’t make it but would like to throw a buck or two into the kitty, or those of you who might have a vested interest in seeing us make Minnesota in June, here’s how you do it.

I’m setting the default donation to $5 — but honestly, even a dollar would be greatly appreciated. Every loonie counts! And as always, thank you, my beloved intertubes!

Update: the embedded button in the post is, for some reason, erroring out, where the donate button on the sidebar isn’t. I think it’s having the certificate initialized twice on the same page that’s doing it, so if you feel you’d like to donate, please do so via the button to the right.

Eight Percent

Something tells me this isn’t the best way to explain away being distracted from your beloved. If it’s any consolation, my beloved Jodi, you get at least 42% of mine.

(Ah, Square One. I grew up watching this stuff. Thanks to Blake Stacey for reminding me that the internet is not just for porn, it’s also for nostalgia!)
