Rick Santorum goes ridiculously hyperbolic

Rick Santorum believes abortions should be outlawed — except, of course, the ones that save his wife’s life, as long as you don’t call it an abortion — and that rape babies are “gifts from God”. Before I saw this video, I thought, could this man be any more ridiculous? Turns out, yes, yes he certainly can.

To partially itemize the claims made in this brief bit of apocalyptic nonsense:

– Obama’s responsible for gas prices somehow

– The growing pushback against religious privilege is somehow Obama’s fault

– Obamacare would result in long waiting room lines

– If we don’t go explode Iran, and soon, they’ll become a nuclear threat

– Grandmothers will be possessed by demons

– Jobs will be lost because… because.

– Race will no longer be an issue, because everyone will become colorblind when all color drains out of the world altogether

But the Republicans don’t use the politics of fear at all, do they? Everything’s all rational discourse and reasonable criticism of policies with them.

Actually, I do remember a time long ago when conservatives used to claim to be the adults, the rational, mature ones as compared to the emotional, short-sighted left.

At least here in the US, I don’t see conservatives making that claim any more. But that might be because most of them can’t spell rashunnel.

It’s hard to believe that anyone would fall for that crap… what are the chances that it would even be permitted here in Canada?

Silly question! If it isn’t, Harper will change the law so that it can be, then he will make a copy of it, changing just the name “Obama” for “Mulcair”.
