CFI has released the full talk wherein Rebecca Watson accused Stef McGraw of eating babies and murdering kittens or something. You’ll have to watch it yourself.
Watched the whole thing yet? Good! My reaction:
SHOCK, HORROR! FETCH MY PEARLS FOR CLUTCHING AND COUCH FOR FAINTING!
Seriously, does anyone honestly still think she handled this incorrectly, after listening to this? The entire “Rebecca wronged Stef McGraw” aspect of this fight is a monument to premature judgment predicated on prior biases against Rebecca Watson.
Compare/contrast the slide at 14:55 with the argument I had with Verbose Stoic on a previous Privilege post. And those arguments of mine were without the benefit of having watched this talk beforehand. Gee! I must be a mind-reader! (I’ve only been accused of such a dozen times, in “reading Elevator Guy’s mind” or some other such nonsense.)
This needs to be spread around, Jason.
I’ll be embedding this on my site for tomorrow.
Thanks!
