Hi! I'm a tech guy, skeptic, feminist, gamer and atheist, and love OSS and science of all stripes. I enjoy a good bit of whargarbl now and again, and will occasionally even seek it out. I am also apparently responsible for the death of common sense on the internet. My bad.
I have opinions. So do you. You want to share them with me. I would like to do likewise. Please don't expect a platform for proselytizing that will go unchecked and unchallenged, though. Contact me via the clicky thingies under my banner.
The commenting rules are simple: don't piss me off. This rule has worked for me for a decade; I have never found a need for any other rule, because any other rules leads to rules-lawyering. Just remember --
this is my property, not yours.
I like how the first speaker uses the argument from beauty: All of these people who created cool things were Christian, so Christianity must be true! That’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard.
And then he moves on to denying the ugly side of his own God. Cherry-picking his own particular vision of does not help his already weak argument… I was expecting better. Just because someone likes to think of his own personal imaginary friend as being superfantastic doesn’t make it real.
I’m glad you posted this though, I’ve been wondering how this debate went -I’m going to check out the rest of the videos.
I actually haven’t watched it yet — just posted it straight after I found the playlist. Going to start watching it as soon as I figure out how to get a game working for Jodi… don’t spoil me! 🙂
Oops! 😡 No more spoilers lol
Wow. Another complete rout. I’m afraid if this is the best the theist side has to offer, they ain’t offering much.
I think the vile little audience-toad that played the Stalin Gambit also asked Dawkins “what if you’re wrong” over here, at 116:20. I recognize the Irish lilt and, though the latter video is difficult to tell, they certainly resemble one another.
A lot of those questions were really awful. There was the woman who asked Dawkins when he was last in church…as if that makes a difference somehow.
Oh hell, looks like the playlist is down now. I’ll try to find another…
