Assassin’s Creed 2 trailer

In case you haven’t seen it yet. The first one was gorgeous and surprisingly immersive (and most stealth-based games just don’t do it for me), but got repetitive pretty quickly. Climb a tower, find a citizen in distress or a minigame node, deal with it, repeat until you’ve cleared a city section so you can proceed with the assassination. I’m a completeness junkie, so I can’t just skip through the assassinations one after another.

I’ve not been feeling too hot the past few days, been spending all my energy on work and a little bit of commenting on other people’s blogs. There’s always lots of stuff I want to write about, but I haven’t the energy right now.

My wife and I can hardly wait for Assassin’s Creed 2 to hit the stores. She just beat Prototype last night. I’ll probably tackle it some more this weekend.

The music industry continues to complain that they’re losing so much money all because of piracy. If they’d quit putting out mostly crap, and then take a look at videogame sales figures, they’d understand that piracy has nothing to do with it. Of course, even then they’d never actually admit it.

For real. Never mind that the albums that ARE selling, are breaking sales and profit records year after year. Same with movies. And anyway, all piracy does is serve to spread the word about how good something is, encouraging more sales amongst people that generally buy things. It’s a better indication to me of how much the public likes something than sales (mostly done blind) are, or ticket sales to movies (which indicate only how successful marketing has been).
