“We aren’t just a way for the universe to know itself. We are a way for the universe to give itself pleasure.”

Sexual pleasure is part of the human spirit. All the Christian psychopathic behavior about sex as the “original sin” is only a way of making people feel guilty about their own desires. It is a means of control by which preachers, priests, bishops and imams impose their beliefs over everyone’s behavior. Christians as well as in other religions know it the way of “moral authority” to enforce their control. And they have been very successful. As such the relentless condemnation of the expression of sexual desires as satanic has nothing to do with helping people get to a delusionary heaven, it is all about control.

Try walking down a city street in the nude. You can be put into prison for “indecent” exposure. Even for a woman to go topless on a warm sunny day at the beach invites police action and public castigation. The entire social attitude towards sexual expression is psychopathic and simply wierd.

I agree to do as you say. However I am not sure what else to call the way Christians view human sexuality. The Christian view is not what one could call as “normal” or mentally healthy, but I would call it ***…..well you know what I mean. What else can you use to refer to a person who is a serial rapist or killer?

cwb2011 @ #3: You can call it harmful, twisted, hateful, irrational, unethical — without saying that it’s psychopathic, insane, or mentally unhealthy, which implies that mental illness makes people unethical.

And whether it’s “normal” is totally irrelevant. I try to stay away from using the word “normal” about sexuality. It’s very loaded, and it’s not relevant to the question of whether any given sexuality or attitude about sexuality is healthy or ethical.
