As an addendum: Even if God existed that wouldn’t give life meaning, it would simply beg the question. After all, if Humans require God to have meaning, then what gives God meaning?
I concur. Jean-Paul Sartre’s “existence precedes essence” was the lightbulb for me as far as the “meaning of life” crap. The purpose of our life is to propigate the species, the meaning of our life is what we ulitmately create it to be.
That blows the lobe of the average believer who gets their meaning out of “storing up treasures in heaven” and never honestly self-examines. It makes us out to be black-hearted baby-eaters in their minds.
