Labor Day Weekend Just-For-The-Heck-Of-It Entertainment Grab Bag

¡Hola, mis amigos y amigas!

It’s been a hectic, sometimes emotional, oftentimes enlightening few weeks, in my case salted with the soul-sucking chasm of stupidity and corporate malice that is my current job (and I suspect I’m not the only one). But it’s Labor Day Weekend here in the USA! Yay! Hug your union (if you’re one of the pitifully few who’ve got one), enjoy your day(s) off (if you’re not stuck working a shit job throughout) and, should you need a little light internet entertainment, see below for awesome goodtimes fun stuff.

First, to get us started off right, let us have a video of a somersaulting panda, provided by my friend and coworker Amanda. The silly buggers disabled the embedding, so alas I cannot embed it here. However, I can provide you with panda warfare (beware the earworm tune):

And a panda engaging in some happy fun playtime:

If anyone knows why pandas like to tumble, please share.

B’s been listening to prank calls lately (this is the kind of shit you do to survive in a call center. You can tell yourself that while you have it bad, at least you aren’t on the phone with Ah-nold). Since we were discussing Dr. Phil the other day, I figured I’d share this prank call by Phil to a treatment center – the rep on the phone has my utmost respect, and I will be happy to buy her a nice meal should she ever visit Seattle. As one professional phone jockey to another, my hat, next time I wear one, is definitely tipped.

And what do you get when you mix Prank Judge Judy with a religious fanatic at a daycare? MAYHEM!

While we’re on the subject of religion, let’s have Dr. Phil calling the Baptists.

What do you get when you get Dr. Phil on the phone with a Scientologist?

And for our final prank, Darth Vader vs. the phone tree and Shane.

Oh, my.

Phone-answerers of the world: it might be a good idea to research prank calls, just in case you don’t watch daytime television and haven’t been to the movies since 1960. So much hilarity could ensue with less angst for the rep if they recognize the voices and play up the prank with the prankster.

In case those weren’t time-sinky enough, head on over to Literally Unbelievable for people-taking-the-Onion-seriously madness. Make sure you have the entire weekend off, because you might need it.

And enjoy Labor Day, every day that you can!
