New at Rosetta Stones: Fine Line Between Death and Life

A mountain blows out sideways. What determines the difference between who lives and who dies? I begin to answer that question in the latest edition of The Cataclysm over at Rosetta Stones.

    Yumyums!
The destruction marches on. It’s hard to picture the immensity of the blast, even though your prose is very illustrative. But I don’t think my mind grasps things that size, rocks, dust and ash moving at those speeds, that much territory wiped out (large trees levelled? boulders moved? what?). I’m continually flabbergasted by the speeds of the explosion (I know, I know, that’s why it’s an explosion…). Never mind something officially classified as “Indescribable”.
In other words, excellent post once again. Also, I re-read the one about Dave Crockett, and the eeriness just doesn’t go away. What a lucky, lucky man.

Once again, very nicely done. As I’ve said before, I’d sure like to see a book come out of this.

As rq says above, the forces involved are truly enormous. And when you consider that MSH was just a firecracker compared to Tambora or Yellowstone, the power of the Earth is both mind-boggling and humbling.
