    I actually like that better than the Steampunk keyboards that have become popular. It’d be even better if it also worked as a printer! You’d have to have an electric typewriter for that, however, and the site says they aren’t compatible.

    It’s telling that the DIY conversion kit they also sell is only $75. It could be the process is very labor intensive (not unlikely, and will undoubtedly vary between typewriter models) or that typewriters, especially older mechanical ones, have become antiques driving up the material cost considerably.

    I do find it rather interesting, though.

    Heck, I have an old Corona or Smith-Corona in the basement if someone wants to try to convert it. The thing is old than me and about as reliable.
