Dinkus Award: Liz Trotta

This made me see red. I haven’t seen such an egregious, obvious, reprehensible case of victim-blaming on a major news program in a while.

Liz Trotta says that if women want to serve in the military they should expect to get raped. She says that the increasing incidence of sexual assault is just a case of feminists wanting to be both warriors and victims. She says that we’re wasting our tax money paying for sexual assault and rape prevention services. She says that we don’t need to protect our military personnel because it’s their job to protect us, not the other way around.

This is so twisted, so vile. Trashing the military or the troops seems like such a politically incorrect thing to do, but I guess trashing women trumps the “supporting our troops” sentiment. This whole piece is “She was asking for it”.  I don’t know how this woman sleeps at night.

Why does FoxNews hate our military? Clearly she’s asserting that our armed forces are full of rapists/criminals without self-control so that anytime a female is around, they loose it.

Liz Trotta hates women (she thinks we deserve to be raped if we make decisions she doesn’t approve), hates men (she thinks they’re all rapists), and hates life. I wonder why she bothers to get out of bed.

I like how she says “raped too much”. As if there’s an acceptable level of rape and we haven’t gotten to that threshold yet.

What I got out of her whole pieces was “The army is supposed to protect me. Fuck ’em if they can’t take getting raped a little.” and “Only femenist extremists don’t want to get raped.”

I think we need a term for women pundits who make a living by upholding the worst aspects of misogyny. Over at The Field Negro they use terms like “house negro”, “lawn jockey” and “slave catcher”. We need to come up with something similar.

Sometimes people call them “Serena Joy”, but I think we can do better.

I saw this earlier today, and the rage about blew the top of my head off. What the hell, seriously? It can’t be her generation, can it? She’s my mom’s age, but if my mom said something like that I’d tell dad to take her in for a psyche eval.
I think there’s a big bin by the door at Fox where the employees turn in their brains when they’re hired.
