Mock the Movie: Scary Clown!

This Wednesday, MockTM dives into the world of bad decision making with horror film House of Fears. Also, a scary clown. And an evil scarecrow. A bunch of teenagers decide to take a “sneak peak” at a haunted house, despite the fact that breaking in means the scary part–the actors–aren’t supposed to be there. That’s right, the mockability starts with the first line uttered in the trailer.

This one is available on Netflix and Amazon instant video. That makes it not technically free for everyone, so after this, we’ll do a stretch of freebies. Feel free to make suggestions.

Two weeks from then, January 30, we will return to the wonderful world of Japanese sci fi with Warning from Space. Starfish-shaped aliens who disguise themselves as Japanese pop stars? What more could you want? Aside from plot and reasonable special effects, I mean.

And then…oh, and then we do Killer Condom on February 13. I am not writer enough to do this Troma film justice.

Like all Troma films, this one is available on YouTube for free viewing. Come (as it were) mock it with us, would you?

There is no trailer for this one, but the whole thing is available on YouTube, so we’re back in the land of free mocking.

“These all sound awful!” I hear you cry. Yes, yes, they do. “These must be mocked mercilessly”, you say. Well, then you’re in the right company. The instructions for playing along:

  1. Start following @MockTM on Twitter.
  2. Start watching the movie on the appropriate Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT.
  3. Once you’ve got the movie going, tweet your snarky comments to @MockTM.  Directing our tweets to @MockTM will keep our followers from being overwhelmed with our snark!
  4. Set up a search for @MockTM on Twitter for the duration so you can follow along with everyone else sharing your pain.

If you have suggestions for other movies that can and should be mocked, send them to @MockTM. Preference will be given to movies that are free or stream on the major media delivery services. Watch the feed, and we’ll set up the calendar for more terrible, mockable movies.

You should add ThanksKilling to your list. It’s the story of a necromanced turkey from The First Thanksgiving come to wreak vengeance. Of course. Here’s a clip of the turkey taking a coffee break with the town sheriff, who thinks the turkey is a midget (because he is wearing Groucho Marx glasses). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV6jz1gsmnM

Or, there’s always Iron Sky. It was a terrible, horrible movie. 2 out of 5 stars. Would watch again.

Actually, I think “Killer Condom” -a spoof horror film, made after a comical graphic novel- is too good to be on that list. I mean, the targets are supposed to be films made by people who take themselves seriously!
The graphic novel “Killer Condom” by Ralf König had pretty much the same gross-out humor as South Park. Recommended reading.

    A) That paragraph was the link that belongs with “Warning From Space”.
    B) YouTube took it down.

Luckily it’s got extra mirrors on YouTube and on archive.org.

For the sake of pedanticity, Kondom des Grauens/The Killer Condom is not produced by Troma, only distributed. It fits well in their repertoire though.
