Scriptures and religious leaders tell us who to have sex with, who not to have sex with, what forms and outcomes of sex are acceptable or unacceptable in what sorts of relationships. But does it help? How well can ancient religious texts address sexual ethics in a world that only recently has reliable contraception, recognizes that full emotional maturity lags sexual maturity by a number of years, and concedes that women have a legal right to say, “No,”–and “Yes”?
